When shopping for a supplier for your new storage systems, consider the following:

What materials offered?  If possible, request samples. Once you see and feel various product lines and examining how drawers and accessories are built and function, you will get an idea of what will suit your needs.

Closet Furnishings provides custom designed, fabricated and installed laminate and solid hardwood storage systems, that meet or exceed the quality of franchise chains at significantly less cost, because they are independently produced free of franchise fees.

We do not use “big box store” quality of materials. Our materials are designed to last the life of your home and are custom cut for your installation.  Our laminate systems are constructed from ¾” high density furniture grade thermally fused melamine in a multitude of colors.  All fastening devices are metal for durability.  Hanging rods and accessories are made from steel and plated with chrome, brass or oiled bronze finishes.  We offer an extensive line of door and drawer front styles.  Drawer boxes are available in melamine or solid maple with dove tail joints, and all drawers have full extension ball bearing slides. 

Our hardwood systems are built from Birch, Maple, Oak and Cherry with colors available in Natural, Autumn, American Oak and Burnt Sugar.

Do they guarantee their products?  Companies that provide quality products feel comfortable guaranteeing them.  A guarantee not only safeguards you against unforeseen material defects, it shows that the company is serious about their reputation, and your satisfaction.

How long have they been in business?  Although not every company worth buying from has been in business forever, there's something to be said for longevity.  Once you’re a seasoned professional, you have the ability to assess storage needs more quickly and with greater accuracy.

Is the company independently owned, or is it a franchise?  When purchasing from an independent company, you know that the owner has a personal stake in your satisfaction. Independent companies tend to be the leaders in innovation, so you may find some of the newest ideas there!

Is there a charge for the initial consultation?  Both the consultation and the designs should be provided to you at no charge.  The only exception is if the fee for drawings will be applied towards the purchase of a system.  Remember, each design is an original, and represents the hard work of your designer.

Can they provide references?  Any good company can provide dozens of recommendations.  If they do good work, there’s a chance you may even know someone on their list!
